You know, one thing is true in life. If we go searching for one thing, we often times find something else. I’m an open minded individual, I believe that everyone has an opinion and has reasons to feel the way that they do. Sometimes those feelings are misguided, but if we talk instead of fight we will learn more about each other and live in harmony. When I first started planning my trip to go down to South Carolina for the protests of the confederate flag removal I was expecting the worst. I was expecting people to fight, I was…

Fear. That word is associated with so much. Many people think about things that simply frightened them as a child, someone else could be thinking about a trauma that occurred in their life. One thing that is consistent about fear is the fact that it blocks us from experiencing a lot in life. Fear can alter people’s perception thus changing their lives. One thing that is very true that was told to us often as kids “You must face your fears.” You face these fears only because they will open up the gates to so many other opportunities. As you…

Men, constantly being accused of not thinking, sometimes it’s true. Most times we’re just trying to find ways to make life a simple as possible. So here are some of our thoughts. – Yes, I think bacon is great on everything. – I’m usually In my own world, so if you repeat something it’s not personal. – I like things, and more importantly stuff… So let me have it. – I am thinking about sex so please stop judging me. – just because I play video games and watch dragonball Z does not make me a child. – ladies, we…

You know, at one point and time NBC’s Thursday night comedy line up was Community, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, and The Office. SHEESH! That’s a ton of universally acclaimed shows. You could easily spend 2 hours of your life dedicated to the TV. But for some reason as TV begins to shift more towards streaming, NBC has been struggling to find that line up that made out hearts warm and our time disappear. You know in a society that requires quick results, sadly I think NBC adapted to this fast lifestyle as well. All of these shows struggled in…

Before you go and judge the article based solely on the title, I challenge everyone to read this piece. As black people continue to push toward equal treatment, the end of systematic racism, and simply a fair shot in a country that has wronged us time and time again, we are constantly being torn down simply for having pride in ourselves and our culture. The american black has been robbed of everything, our families, our history, our dignity, and even our humanity. Not only have we been robbed of it, but those pages in history were shredded and then burned,…

We all know that taking a break from the music industry is much needed. So much goes on and it can drain you as a person. But as A Fan! I’ve got to say, an album a year would do me just fine! I know that’s an unrealistic goal, but for these artist’s it’s been far to long since their last album and they need one to come out ASAP. Adele She left on such a high note, I just wanted more. It’s almost as if the Skyfall anthem was her beautiful goodbye. I refuse to accept that Adele!…

South park has really made its way from being a show about some children, to a show that is not scared to take on social and political issues. Sometimes by trying to squeeze to much into an episode it can get jumbled up, but the message is often powerful. Most times people just want to laugh at the absurdity of South Park, but they don’t realize that they are truly watching people voice their opinions on issues going on in the world. So Here are a few episodes from when South Park got real with us. This isn’t a countdown,…

It’s a staple, it’s a relationship, it’s the black barber. The barbershop for black people, whether you’re a woman or a man is so important. Often times when moving to a new city, two things are happening. You are sad that you have to leave your barber (no one knows you better) and you are pressed to find a new barber who can handle your hair. This is tough, not every barber has the same confidence, not every barber knows how to handle your unique grain of hair. Something as simple as a edge up can mess up someones entire…

Serena Jameka Williams: gorgeous, role model, hard worker, philanthropist, a great sport, dominant, playful, and warm, yet somehow I still keep seeing articles that are trying to discredit her. I’m going to put out an article that’s about her impact on tennis, as well as the world, because she deserves to be praised for the outstanding individual that she is. Serena as a tennis player has done something that very few athletes do. She dominates in a sport that houses both men and women, and has broken nearly all the records for both men and women. Serena plays each and…

You know, a writer’s job is a very selfless job. When you decide that you want to do a movie, a book, a poem, an article, anything, writers are doing it for someone else. Often times writing is just a way to relieve frustration, vent out your feelings and can be looked at as a hobby sometimes. I understand that, and so many people think that they can be incredible writers based off the strength that their idea is the greatest idea, I understand that as well. Even though writing can seem easy, it truly is not. I’ve been told…
