Why is it that Americans, American-christians in particular, are so afraid of the letter X in Christmas? For years I’ve heard so many people getting angry saying “They’re trying to take the Christ out of Christmas, literally.” And for years I thought the exact same thing. I would get mad because Christ is the reason for the season. The season is not about spoiling your kids beyond measure, and to replace Christ with the letter X felt like a corporate ploy to try and make it about shopping, instead of appreciating and loving each other. But as time kept going…

I’ll be the first to tell you that I didn’t particularly care for Cam Newton’s comments on the social status of black people in America early this year. Especially after he was really for the culture. If we put social justice aside and focus solely on football, we have to wonder if the NFL truly has it out for one of its most dominant quarterbacks to ever play the game. Cam Newton is effortlessly destroying records in such a short amount of time, and I believe he’s starting to pay for that. The one thing that I hate to hear…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTgGNNpEvkw Saturday Night Live has undergone some serious plastic surgery. For the most part Saturday Night Live has stayed in there lane, and didn’t veer far away from it. Because of that people began to look for other shows to watch because SNL was starting to get pretty stuffy, and they just weren’t hiring great talent to keep us laughing. But lately Saturday Night Live has been doing a great job with their sketches and its getting people back on the SNL bandwagon. I believe part of it is that SNL is staying current with technology and giving their…

J. Cole has surely already flooded us with enough to talk about with just one song. False Prophets was thought provoking, honest, and just raw. J Cole said things that all of us have been both thinking and saying about our heroes in the music industry. But while we were steadily talking about False Prophets, Cole sneaked another video on us called “Everybody Gotta Die.” A song that where we see J. Cole seriously exercising his lyrical prowess over a smooth instrumental. For so long J. Cole has been flooding us with sobbing songs about his struggles with fame, that…

With the release of J Cole’s album on the way we are all anxiously waiting for December 9th. J Cole has been extremely quiet when it comes to putting out a verse over the last few years and maybe now we’re going to see why. He’s had a lot to think about and reflect on. Like what the fame will do to you, how keeping certain type of people around can deteriorate the mind. How black lives are being killed in the street and no one seems to care. Through all of this turmoil, people are supposed to just forget…

“Cole world make way for the chosen one! What you now hear is putting fear in all the older ones!” Yes people! J cole is back! It took him long enough! I can barely contain my excitement as i’m typing right now! J Cole has been very quiet these last few years since he dropped his critically acclaimed album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The first album in 25 years to go platinum with no features (They should turn that house into a national monument.) I feel as though I have a personal stake in J Cole’s success, I put everyone…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om50njBFf58 Christmas is a magical time of year. A year to which everyone is just joyful and happy. I know that a lot of us use this time of year to spew our political and ideological indifference’s with the holiday, but those people are generally ignored. There is something about the season of giving, a season to where we go all out of our way just to see someone smile. As great as it is to receive, it feels even better to give. When someone finally opens that gift that you thought long and hard on and you get the…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MSj0AnX5sU&t=14s Four Loko’s have been haunting our local convenience stores for a very long time. As broke college students, or even broke adults we would have to turn to them to get a cheap alcoholic beverage. Drinking four Loko’s was not always the result of having no money, some of us had to drink them because we legitimately forgot to go to the ABC store, and the convenience store was the only thing that was open. You didn’t want a beer because beer takes too long to get buzzed. Four loko’s would give you energy and get you ready…

WHAT A TRIUMPHANT RETURN! Ever since Bruno Mars slid his way into the music industry and set all of our speakers on fire with his first album Doo-Wops & Holligan’s, we’ve been craving for more Bruno. He always sets the stage on fire with his world class performances. We all saw him in his shiny gold suit doing the best James Brown we’ve ever seen since… Well, James Brown! With every single that dropped we knew we had a star. Then Bruno released his second album Unorthdox Jukebox. It was another hit he had, and although the numbers were great,…

Dave Chappelle is one of the most influential comedians of this century. His wit and impeccable comedic timing are nothing short of genius. He reels you in with facts, and sometimes a deep personal story that makes you reflect and then in an instant he makes you burst out laughing. He touched all of our hearts with the Chappelle show and the whole country tuned in to see what this legendary show would do week in and week out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRZN7IzvCVs&t=40s But then Dave Chappelle left us after 3 seasons of the Chappelle show and we never thought we would see…
