I first discovered John Mulaney randomly while on a Pandora comedy station one day. Instantly he was funny. It was as if he’s settled into how weird and out of whack he is and could just relate his awkwardness to people’s silly misconceptions of him. When I first heard New in Town I didn’t know what to expect, but what I got was gut twirling laughs. So I was excited to see his new show premiere on fox, but sadly it was canceled after some bad ratings. So imagine how elated I was when I saw that he had a…

CeeLo has been really making his way into a different market as of late. He’s no longer the goodie mob cee-lo, he’s a singing man with an old school spirit. CeeLo really established himself in the pop market with his last album and since then he’s been exercising his vocals. I’ve got to say that heart blanche really does blend pop and soul together for an album that is fun, introspective, personal, and very enjoyable. CeeLo brings an amazing energy to each and every one of his songs in this album. When he wants you to feel pain and hurt…

Have you been eyeing that expensive Apple Watch? Trying to decide if it’s worth it? Ask yourself this. What do I want a smart watch for? Health? Connectivity? Because it’s cool? Let me give you my experience. But before we start, understand this is an overview of my experience and my opinion. I wouldn’t say that I have driven all functionality to the max.  I recently purchased two Apple Watches For my wife and I. I have the 42mm Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sports band. My wife has the 38mm version. From the time you open the air…

To do a follow up to maybe one of the greatest bond films in history is very tough. Spectre had lofty expectations considering the greatness of Skyfall. When I read a few early reviews I saw critics saying it wasn’t as good as Skyfall (which honestly would be tough) so I began to get a little nervous that it would be more of a quantum of solace type movie. When you watch it you will see classic bond moments that are absolutely incredible. Although I do agree with critics that on some measure Spectre fell flat just a little bit,…

A lot of people fall in and out of love with Joe Budden. There are some who say they are “retired” Joe Budden fans and that’s completely fine. He’s not the same person that he used to be. Joe used to  try to give people bars but he honestly felt like he was losing himself. It wasn’t until Joe realized that he needed to give people his heart and not his bars that his rapping improved. He started with mood musik then it escalated. Now I’m hearing some of the most honest Joe Budden tracks lately and they are a…

Let’s give a round of applause to Netflix first of all. They finally decided to do a Netflix exclusive movie and they could’ve launched with a more recognizable cast and director but they really showed us who’s in control. I’m not entirely sure if a movie about a boy soldier would make its rounds in the movie theaters. This movie has the feel of an independent movie but thanks to Netflix it can be seen by the masses. I’ve got to say this movie is truly unique from other war movies. It deals with a child soldier and its effects…

THEY SCIENCE’D THE S**T OUT OF THAT MOVIE! I had pretty lofty expectations going into this movie. After all the trailers looked amazing, and there were so many big name actor’s and actress’s in this movie that it couldn’t fail, also Ridley Scott was directing the movie. With that being said, I still had no clue just how different this movie would be technically. We’ve seen Gravity, and Interstellar, both movies about space travel. Yet with all of these movies about the same subject, they are all executed very differently, including the Martian. This movie really tugs you along for…

Boy, who saw empire becoming as big of a hit as it did, I surely didn’t. The biggest musical-drama on TV last year took the entire nation by storm. They had original music that was great, superstar actors on screen, and just overall drama. Each week’s episode may have been a tad predictable, and sometimes corny, but there was always something great you could latch on to. Whether it be the singing of Jussie Smollett, or his precious little daughter that everyone fell in love with. This show has a very basic story line, but an entertaining way of delivering…

This book review is coming right on the heels of the movie coming out, but hey this is the best timing I guess. There is something magical about getting stuck in a disgusting killer desert for two weeks. Thomas and his friends made it out of the maze only to find that there is so much more happening than they could’ve imagined. Though the twists and turns and sheer adrenaline you experience are definitely breath taking, the sequel comes up just shy of the first book. But that does not mean that this book is not full of thrills and…

If there’s one thing that most adults, and those who aren’t minorities don’t understand, it’s rap. They often think that it’s glorifying a certain style of living but really it’s not. The ones who are rapping are the ones who did not like that lifestyle and simply wanted to get away from around it. But when you’re battling those demons day in and day out it takes a toll on you. Hip hop is a way to get all your anger out in a constructive way. And when you get that anger out it speaks to other’s that are going…
