Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless started their sports debate show on Fox Sports 1 and it has quickly exploded into one of our favorite shows to watch. Skip and Shannon have never been afraid of controversy. If you can remember Skip Bayless from first take, he did not spare feelings. While Skip was on first take, it would always get very interesting whenever Shannon Sharpe came on the show. He showed up and he didn’t back down to anyone. He was a true southern gentlemen who spoke his mind. Often times, what was on his mind would have us LAUGHING!…

I’ll be the first to tell you that I didn’t particularly care for Cam Newton’s comments on the social status of black people in America early this year. Especially after he was really for the culture. If we put social justice aside and focus solely on football, we have to wonder if the NFL truly has it out for one of its most dominant quarterbacks to ever play the game. Cam Newton is effortlessly destroying records in such a short amount of time, and I believe he’s starting to pay for that. The one thing that I hate to hear…

A common sentiment among American sports fans is that sports is a place for escape.  That sentiment at bare minimum is a very simplistic example of say it with me….Privilege.  Yes, privilege.  While a break from everyday stress is something most people can appreciate, the idea that sports can somehow provide an escape is a luxury that African-Americans and other people of color simply do not have.  Comments like “I watch sports to escape life and politics”  or “I just want to be dumb for a while” especially in the midst of the ongoing demonstrations by athletes against police brutality…

1.) VENUS WILLIAMS CRASHES OUT OF THE SINGLES COMPETITION  No one saw this coming today. The way Venus has looked over the last year, people thought she was primed and ready to make a real push for gold. 2.) FRENCH GYMNAST SAMIR AIT SAID SNAPS HIS LEG First of all, sorry for the graphic picture. Seeing this happen in real time was gut wrenching. You hate to see any athlete go down with an injury, but with injuries like this happen, you can feel your whole body tense up. 3.) KATINKA HOSSZU SHATTER’S THE WORLD RECORD FOR THE WOMENS 400 METER…

After much hate, and much love (There is no grey area) Lebron James has done what no one thought was possible. He brought a championship back to Cleveland! Since He first entered the league Lebron has had a ridiculous amount of scrutiny put on him. He came through and set the league on fire with his greatness. Even that wasn’t enough. Lebron stepped it up even more and actually got a Cavaliers team to the finals in 2007 (even though they got swept) with virtually no one on that team. People Lebron was so good that he made Mo Williams…

21, A game widely accepted amongst basketball aficionado’s as both a recreational game, and a game where one’s skills are put to the test. The rules are simple, there are no teams, and the first person to 21 wins the game. When doing battle on the court there are more intricate rules that take place. Rules that people should know, but they go unspoken. So I’m here to give you 8 unspoken rules in the game of 21. 1.) Defense is not to be played until someone reaches 15. 2.) Fouls do not count until one person is close to…

For 20 years. Say it again 20 years! We’ve watched Kobe “Black Mamba/Bean” Bryant grace our screens. His killer instinct and pure passion was a lesson for us all. Every millennial was affected by Kobe in one way or another. Even if you didn’t watch basketball and you just liked to play it every now and then, he still affected you. Who else remembers yelling “Kobe!” whenever you dropped buckets on some unsuspecting foe. Kobe Bryan is going to be sincerely missed throughout the NBA. For the longest time it was Kobe’s league and no one else’s. Now sadly that…

Sports and stats, sports and stats that is the one thing we seem to care about the most in america. Most time we pull up stats that really don’t matter and are never interesting. After talking with a fellow contributor of this site the other day he asked me a question that I’ve truly never thought of. Him and I have both loved and played sports together so sometimes we have in depth conversations. He said “You know how their’s the AFC and NFC and then the divisions are broken down into 4 teams. Is there a division where all…

It’s the 2016 NFL Playoffs and it’s time for us all to get ready for some great football! I know that a lot of us are sad that are teams didn’t make (Not me, GO PATS!) but we should know that there is some great football ahead. There are three teams to look out for this year, and they could make a deep run, and here they are. 3.) Green Bay Packers The Packers play Washington and they should be able to win that game. One thing that they will do is establish how they’re going to utilize both James…
