When the very talented Scott Bradlee decided to start posting on YouTube he had an incredible vision. A vision that could only be executed by an incredibly intelligent, and talented person. He wanted to take popular modern culture songs and blend them with different genres of music. What he ended up creating was something quite magical. Years later he now tours the world performing these songs with a myriad of very talented musicians and singers. So I want to give you my top 10 Postmodern Jukebox mashups.

10.) HEY YA!- OUTKAST, VINTAGE 60’s SOUL FEAT. SARA NIEMIETZ

Not only did they take this very fun song and remix it, but they slowed it down for us all to feel like it’s a love song.

9.)  I WANT IT THAT WAY- BACKSTREET BOYS, 70’s SOUL FEAT. SHOSHANA BEAN

They took this song and added some serious soul to it. Making this song feel even more soothing than the original version.

8.) POISON- BELL BIV DIVOE, VINTAGE “OLD SCHOOL SWING”  FEAT. SHOSHANA BEAN

This song was already fun to dance to but when you add old school swing to it, you can’t help but to do a different dance.

7.) BURN- ELLIE GOULDING, VINTAGE 60’s GIRL GROUP.

Taking this very pop-centric song and making it into a classic girl group is beyond talented.

6.) ROAR- KATY PERRY, VINTAGE MOTOWN FEAT. ANNIE GOODCHILD

You almost expect to see Smokey Robinson or Aretha Franklin to burst out and start singing right along with them.

5.) DRUNK IN LOVE- BEYONCE, VINTAGE BIG BAND/SWING FEAT. CHRISTINA GATTI

Taking this very fun club and dance song and making it feel as though you can play it at your friends retirement party is not only funny but talented.

4.) NO DIGGITY- BLACKSTREET, VINTAGE JESSICA RABBIT STYLE FEAT. ARIANA SAVALAS

Another upbeat song that is slowed down and making you enjoy it in another way.

3.) GET LUCKY- DAFT PUNK, VINTAGE IRISH TENOR

There are so many different cultures with so many different ways to sing. The fact that they found a way to fuse Daft Punk with Irish tenor is beyond amazing.

2.) TALK DIRTY- JASON DERULO, VINTAGE KLEZMER WITH 2 CHAINZ VERSE IN YIDDISH

Talk dirty is such a pop/fun song. Somehow they keep the same energy as the original but then they take us around the world through the instruments.

1.) BYE BYE BYE- N’SYNC, VINTAGE 60’s SURF ROCK (PULP FICTION) FEAT. TARA LOUISE

Who doesn’t love bye bye bye? Who doesn’t love pulp fiction? So who wouldn’t love these two mashed together!?

YouTube is amazing it really helps the very talented artist get their visions out there. It’s probably the ultimate form of capitalism. Only everyone TRULY has a chance. I hope everyone can appreciate the postmodern jukebox.
